Abstrak

Indonesia merupakan negara yang dijuluki sebagai rumah herbal dunia yang mencapai 75% bahan alam terdapat di Indonesia. Namun, sebagian besar bahan alam pada saat ini mengalami kendala dalam kelarutan air, yang mengakibatkan disolusi yang tidak optimal dan penurunan bioavailabilitas. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, berbagai teknik telah dikembangkan, pembentukan garam, pengurangan ukuran partikel, dispersi padat, formulasi berbasis lipid, dan sebagainya. Salah satu pendekatan yang semakin mendapatkan perhatian dalam memperbaiki kelarutan obat lipofilik adalah self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS). SNEDDS adalah campuran isotropik minyak, surfaktan, dan ko-surfaktan yang membentuk nanoemulsi minyak dalam air (o/w) dengan sedikit pengadukan. Pendekatan ini menjadi semakin penting dalam upaya meningkatkan kelarutan obat dan, oleh karena itu, meningkatkan efisiensi pengiriman obat lipofilik. Penerapan metode SNEDDS kedalam formula obat herbal akan meningkatkan efektifitas dan memperbaiki sifat bioavaibilitas nya sehingga meningkatkan efisiensi dalam memanfaatkan potensi tanaman obat di Indonesia
