EVALUATION OF ORAL ANTI-DIABETES ADVERSE DRUG REACTIONS (ADRs) BASED ON THE NARANJO ALGORITHM IN SOEWONDO PATI INSTITUTION

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of chronic metabolic disorders caused by genetic factors due to reduced insulin production by the pancreas which is indicated by an increase in blood sugar levels causing chronic complications both microvascular and macrovascular due to insufficient insulin function. Objective: To evaluate ADRs. in antidiabetic patients based on the Naranjo algorithm in the Soewondo Hospital, Pati Regency. Research Methods: In this study using quantitative research where the data obtained is in the form of numbers. The type of research used is descriptive, because this research describes the phenomenon of health problems in the form of side effects from diabetes mellitus in Soewondo Hospital, Pati Regency. Results: In patients with diabetes mellitus inpatient at Soewondo Hospital Pati, the most frequent occurrence was dizziness with a percentage of 21.1%. The use of metformin in combination with 2 drugs in DM patients can cause nausea, vomiting and dizziness. it was found that the incidence rate of ADR at a score of 5-8 with a degree of probable certainty (ESO could occur) had the highest percentage (55.5%). Based on gender, there were 43 male patients (52.2%) and 47 female patients (47.7%). It can be seen that during the period January 2020 - December 2022 at the age of 30-40 years there were 20 patients with a percentage of (22.2%), aged 41-50 years there were 25 patients with a percentage of (27.7%), while the 51-60 years there were 45 patients with a percentage of (50.0%). Conclusion: Antidiabetic ADRs based on the Naranjo Algorithm in DM patients in Soewondo Pati inpatient care, the most values can be obtained between categories 5-8 which means "ESO may occur (Probable).
