KARAKTERISTIK DAN ANALISA KADAR ARTEMISININ DARI DAUN Artemisia annua L. DARI TIGA TEMPAT TUMBUH YANG BERBEDA

Artemisia annua L. is the only species in the genus Artemisia that produces artemisinin. The low content of artemisinin is still a problem in the pharmaceutical industry. The artemisinin content is mostly found in the leaves. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and levels of artemisinin from simplicia leaves of Artemisia annua L. from three different growing locations. Characteristics examination uses specific and non-specific parameters and the method used for determining levels is High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) which is effective for mixtures of compounds with small concentrations. The results of the organoleptic examination of Artemisia annua L. leaf simplicia powder from three different places had the same characteristics, all three samples were in the form of leaf powder, green in color with a distinctive fragrant odor and a bitter taste. When examining the air content, the third sample had different levels, the air content of the Cibodas sample was 9.17%, the Lembang sample was 8.79% and the Tawangmangu sample was 8.28%. The results of the ash content examination also showed different results, the Lembang sample was 0.46%, the Cibodas sample was 0.42% and the Tawangmangau sample had an ash content of 0.36%. The results of determining artemisinin levels from the third sample also showed different results, the Tawangmangu sample with artemisinin levels of 0.71%, the Cibodas sample 0.26% and the Lembang sample 0.09%. Based on the results of this research, the results of the ash content and water content of the three samples met the simplicia quality requirements and the highest artemisinin content from the third place came from the Tawangmangu sample with a content of 0.71%
