AKTIVITAS MUKOLITIK SECARA IN VITRO EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SAWO MANILA (Manilkara zapota (L.) P.Royen)

Abstrak

Manila sapodilla leaf (Manilkara zapota (L.)) is a member of the Sapotaceae which is widely cultivated in home gardens. This study aims to determine the mucolytic activity of Sawo manila (Manilkara zapota (L.). The method used in this study was in vitro using duck egg white as artificial sputum by comparing the mucolytic activity with several concentrations, namely 0.5%, 1% , and 1.5% Mucolytic activity was seen from the decrease in viscosity using a Brookfield LVT 230 viscometer then the data obtained were statistically tested. The results showed the mucolytic activity of the ethanol extract of Sawo manila (Manilkara zapota (L.)) at 60 minutes The percentage of mucolytic activity of extract concentration 0.5% is 34.6%, 1% extract concentration is 35.3%, extract concentration 1.5% is 55.3%, while the mucolytic activity of positive control acetylcysteine ​​is 0.2% in minutes 60th, which is 60.3% . ethanol extract of Sawo manila (Manilkara zapota (L.)) shows that it has the best mucolytic activity concentration 1.5%.
